She passed away on September 1, 2023 at only 57, from complications of early onset Alzheimer’s. Alzheimer’s is a devastating diagnosis, there is no cure or even very effective medications to slow it down, it’s a cruel disease that ravages the brain, body, and memory of those afflicted
Brenda was my sister in law, she was kind, and caring with a child like innocence. She loved God and her family, she was married with three adult children and 12 grandchildren that she adored. One of her adult children is special needs and she was his primary caretaker, and never once did I witness her act as if he were a burden…because that was her heart, selfless and kind. The world lost a good one, to a devastating disease.
As we are able to gain momentum with our business, you will always see pens with purple on our website, these pens are representative of the color for Alzheimer’s and a portion of our profit will go to the Alzheimer’s Association for every purple pen purchased.
It has always been in my heart to figure out a way to do good in the world with my art. Honestly, I was a bit stumped for awhile as to how I was going to achieve this through pen making, but then I realized I could donate in her honor and maybe someday there will be a cure.
